São Paulo, August 2016 – The market for professional products for skin treatment of grew by 10% during 2015, says the study published by Factor-Kline, one of Brazil’s market intelligence companies and participant in in-cosmetics Latin America, the only industry event focused solely on raw materials and educational content for the C T & F segment for Latin America. This year’s exhibition takes place October 5-6 in São Paulo.

Elaine Gerchon, project manager for Factor-Kline, says, “The prospects for professional skin care markets in Brazil are positive and show a strong trend toward maintaining a fast growth pace. We estimate that this market will grow at a compound annual rate of 5% by 2020.”

The company says that this increase is driven by consumers’ search for a youthful appearance, especially products for skin firmness and wrinkle reduction. Body care is the most popular skin treatment in Brazil (sought by 70% of those who seek products in this segment). Sixty percent of the market consists of beauty spas and salons, which also dominate sales. “Next are the retail channels and specialty shops that cater to a large part of the population of beauty professionals.”

in-cosmetics Latin America plays host to exhibitors bringing products to this segment. An example is Citróleo, which has, for example, AlphaWhiteness, a natural whitening agent that has acai oil in its formulation. AlphaWhiteness has 100% natural bleaching and anti-irritant properties, free from hydroquinone. It offers effective results in hyperpigmentation and skin blemish treatments. The company is also exhibiting the active ingredient AlphaAging, an anti-aging and anti-wrinkle product with proven in vivo effectiveness that also feels silky on the skin and has an immediate lifting effect. Powered by Buriti oil, used in its composition, it is used in anti-aging creams to combat free radicals that cause wrinkles and sagging. Among other highlights is AlphaImprove, formulated to combat stretch marks, and AlphaComplete for acne and dandruff.

Brasquim is also exhibiting new products. Part of its portfolio is GatulineRenew, an active ingredient rejuvenator that, according to the company, acts on one of the signs of aging that even plastic surgery cannot prevent: the change in skin texture. GatulineRenew acts on the skin, stimulating cell renewal to leave the skin younger and smoother.

“In Brazil we’re seeing some trends such as increased partnerships between cosmetics companies and beauty device manufacturing companies,” says Elaine Gerchon. “The companies that innovate and bring new features constantly to the market are a differentiator for manufacturers. Consumers have come to appreciate the best cost-benefit relationship.”

Reed Exhibitions is expecting 3,500 professionals who will get the chance to see over a thousand products of 200 exhibitor brands.
