On October 5-6, technical professionals in the beauty and personal care industry will have a ‘first’ in Brazil: the chance to develop and test a product in the fully functional laboratory, installed inside the exhibition.
São Paulo, July 2016 – in-cosmetics Latin-America brings to Brazil for the first time the Formulation Lab, a fully functional laboratory fitted with equipment that will allow experts to give “life” to ingredients, formulating and testing products on the spot, inside São Paulo’s Expo Center Norte. This initiative, unique and unprecedented, is aimed at cosmetics industry technical professionals.
The activities will take place October 5-6 and will create an interactive, fun environment and offer a completely innovative and differentiated approach to that typically on offer at traditional exhibitions. “We seek to offer more modern activities that add value and inspire Latin-American professionals who visit the event. The Formulation Lab project has proved a huge success in previous editions of in-cosmetics in Paris and Bangkok, so we decided to bring this experience to Exhibition visitors in São Paulo as well,” says Lucy Gillam, director of in-cosmetics Group..
in-cosmetics Latin-America has confirmed some of the companies participating in the laboratory. On 6 October, from 14:00 to 15:00, the exhibitor Gattefossé, for example, will present the formulation of a sunscreen spray with Bi-Gel technology. With a protection factor of 30, the resulting product offers innovative properties, such as a feeling of freshness and quick-break effect (meaning when applied to the skin, it immediately releases its percentage of water)..
The Kobo company will present on October 6, 15:45 to 16:45, KoboGel, a simplified and environmentally friendly process for creating multipurpose products with a sophisticated touch, a feature that pigmented sunscreens require these days. In the presentations they will show how to create a filter with pigmented SPF 20 with amazing sensory properties, using cold process.
Belinda Carli, director of the Institute of Personal Care Science and official technical advisor of in-cosmetics worldwide (South Korea, United States, London and Thailand, as well as São Paulo) believes that the Formulation Lab is a fantastic opportunity for participants get hands on and use amazing new materials and technologies, giving life to the ingredients.
“The Formulation Lab is a great contribution to the event’s educational program of the event as it helps professionals in the chemical area to focus on the materials and their effects. One thing is to find suppliers and talk about products and another is being able to use them and see the results, an experience that was not possible before,” says Belinda.
