Q&A with Dow

Why does Dow participate at in-cosmetics Global?

Dow views in-cosmetics Global as a tremendous opportunity to showcase the cumulative strength of its newly integrated personal care portfolio. Specifically, we want to highlight to brand owners the multi-dimensional synergies created through the integration of Dow Corning’s market-leading silicone expertise into Dow Home and Personal Care Solutions’ award-winning multifunctional offering. Our newly combined toolbox multiplies Dow’s capabilities and enables enhanced sensorial profiles and functional performance.

What are you looking for among the show floor?

At such a big event, it is easy to be overwhelmed by noise and an inflation of announcements. So, while we do appreciate the enthusiasm and spirit such a big venue can inspire, we put our emphasis on the personal connections it allows us to build and grow. For us at Dow, the focus at in-cosmetics to a large extent is on speaking with brand owners, industry influencers, regional trend scouts and the many other individuals who make this industry such a great business to be in.

Which personal care market trends are you looking to discuss with your visitors and guests at in-cosmetics Global?

At the product level, we see that personal care market drivers continue to be focused on multifunctional offerings with benefits like anti-aging, texture, enhanced sensory, long-lasting wear and UV protection. More generally speaking, with the size of the world’s middle class expected to grow to 3.2 billion by 2020, we are looking forward to introduce our new LabSense customer collaboration model to make products that not only perform better, but are more accessible and more globally sustainable. Also, personal care needs vary widely internationally. Dow is ahead of the segment by focusing on the sensory, multi-functionality and sustainability trends that are critical to next generation solutions and with R&D facilities strategically placed across the globe, Dow is positioned to target specific needs while addressing universal accessibility.
