From indies to India: It’s all new at in-cosmetics Asia

From indies to India: It’s all new at in-cosmetics Asia

The organisers of in-cosmetics Asia, the unmissable event where personal care creators and ingredients come together, have announced a string of new innovative and captivating initiatives that will benefit visitors seeking solutions that respond directly to current and emerging trends.

Attendees at this year’s show can expect to see a strong emphasis placed on the key factors driving industry change; sustainability, ‘conscious’ beauty, and haircare, alongside initiatives that encompass the growing influence that indie brands and the Indian market are having on the global market.

Against the backdrop of the Asia Pacific region (APAC) set to account for 67% of the global cosmetics and personal care market by 2027, according to Euromonitor, this event will welcome over 500 exhibiting suppliers – a quarter of which will be new to the show this year – and a predicted audience of 12,000. The 2023 event taking place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand from 7-9 November is now open for free visitor registration here.

NEW & IMPROVED: 2023

As sustainability and ‘conscious’ beauty trends continue to prove popular among consumers, this year’s event will spotlight sustainable, eco-conscious products and practices that are creating a pathway for change. The Spotlight On product showcase is designed to help companies and suppliers tackle sustainability challenges, from uncertainties around incorporating certain ingredients and best practice, to efficacy and marketing challenges. Here, visitors will be presented with an abundance of business opportunities, from seeking new and fresh ideas on formulating environmentally friendly ingredients, to launching a brand-new cosmetic line.

Haircare will also be a key focus, following recent studies by Covalo showing that haircare is the most popular category in the region, with 55% of APAC professionals searching for relevant applications and active ingredients, compared to just 36% worldwide. As such, scalp care and follicle care will be honed in on in the Spotlight On product showcase, Love is in the Hair, offering visitors the opportunity to enhance their haircare projects and learn more about the issues and opportunities within the sector.

India is a large and rapidly growing market for beauty and personal care products, largely driven by socio-economic factors. According to Euromonitor International, the country now ranks as the world’s 8th largest beauty and personal care market with a total value of $15 billion and growing rate of 10% each year.

Following the 2022 event, where India’s trademark products – essential oils and fragrances – were highly sought after by visitors, in-cosmetics Asia has recognised the growing significance of the country’s market on the rest of the globe. In response, the 2023 edition will be presenting a freshly tailored India Country Focus programme to cater to India-specific interests and needs, provide unrivalled insights into Indian consumer trends, and allow visitors to delve into the country’s flourishing market. Visitors can expect to see a variety of traditional and cutting-edge Indian ingredients, formulations, and practices from key suppliers.

With small indie companies and representatives making up over half of its visitor figures, in-cosmetics Asia continues to recognise these brands for bringing unique products to the market, offering a fresh perspective on trends and consumer preferences. The Indie Trail will help visitors identify exhibitors that can fulfil small ingredient orders (i.e., as small as 1kg for active ingredients, 5-10kg of functional materials).

Sarah Gibson, Exhibition Director at in-cosmetics Asia said: “For each event we strive to ensure visitors are brought to the forefront of the cutting-edge themes, trends, and innovations that are shaping the direction of the ever-evolving industry. Extensive market analysis and research is undertaken to determine each show programme, and as such, the beauty trends in the Asia Pacific region; sustainability, innovation, and the growing influence of indie brands and the Indian market; have formed the foundation of which this year’s event is built upon. We look forward to welcoming the supply chain to Bangkok for yet another landmark event.”

in-cosmetics Asia will take place from 7-9 November 2023 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), in Bangkok, Thailand. For more information and to register to attend, visit here. Free online registration closes at midnight on 5 November, Bangkok time. Following this, visitors will only be able to register at the show and will be charged 500 THB.
