In 2015 in-cosmetics celebrates its 25th anniversary in Barcelona on 14-16 April, marking a major milestone in the show’s history. More than 680 exhibitors including Ashland, BASF, Bayer, and Merck are set to use the show as a launch pad for their innovations, as thousands of professionals come together to discuss the most important trends and challenges in the personal care industry.

Over the last quarter of a century the beauty and personal care industry has grown from strength to strength, and is now worth more than $454 billion in retail sales according to Euromonitor – more than double its $211 billion worth in 1999. During this time in-cosmetics has expanded in importance and in size, having grown ten fold since its inception in 1990. The show has always adapted to changes across sectors and today in-cosmetics reflects the entirety of the industry, offering visitors unrivalled access to the latest raw material, testing services and ingredient launches, as well as extensive learning opportunities.

A new Market Focus – on Turkey & Middle East – launches in 2015 continuing the show’s longstanding commitment to providing a unique perspective on regional business opportunities, marketing, regulatory and scientific updates. A dedicated pavilion will house exhibitors from the region, while presentations will shine a light on the vast business opportunities this rapidly evolving market holds.

The world-class Educational Programme once again covers all the latest in cosmetics and personal care. Visitors can book onto scientific and regulatory workshops for in-depth insight. These half-day sessions will cover topics such as regulatory updates and compliance, suncare and electro-magnetic radiation, and delivery systems.  Free Marketing Trends Presentations also provide updates on key trends, while visitors can hear directly from exhibitors in the Innovation Seminars, which this year features over 80 hours of presentations on the industry’s latest ingredients, product launches and technologies.

Groundbreaking science takes centre stage in the Innovation Zone where visitors can discover ingredient and product launches made in the six months leading up to the show. To enhance interactive learning, a dedicated Live Demonstration Zone has been added for 2015. Mintel will also be on hand to showcase cutting-edge end products on the market today.

Attendees can also target their visit to supplier stands by visiting the ‘Testing & Regulation’ and ‘Fragrance in Cosmetics’ Zones which are set to be bigger than ever before in 2015.

In this special anniversary edition, an awards ceremony celebrating the industry’s finest takes place on day one. Winners will be announced for the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award and Green Ingredient Award, as well as a new award to celebrate 25 years of innovation. The Beiersdorf Innovation Pitch also returns following its huge success in 2014 with the manufacturing giant selecting three triumphant exhibitors at the show.
