In these challenging times, Reed Exhibitions – organisers of in-cosmetics events – have been supporting society at large – here we reveal some of these morale-boosting initiatives.
Once a venue, now a hospital
Back in March, Reed Exhibitions in Austria collaborated with the city of Vienna to turn an exhibition venue in the centre of the city into a hospital with the aim of providing medical care to victims of Covid-19.
This was achieved with the support of our company’s contacts and suppliers, as well as the Reed Exhibitions Austria’s stand building team. In total, 880 beds were installed over a weekend and in record time – only five days from start to finish. The result? A brand new hospital with a final capacity of over 3,000 beds.
Facemasks for Shooting Stars
Reed Exhibitions are long-standing supporters of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. This UK-based charity’s mission is to support and provide care to families whose children suffer from illness, generic conditions or incurable disease and are not expected to reach the age of 19. Since 2008, our UK office has been taking part in many activities and challenges, raising funds through its charity events.
In May, in collaboration with our sister event PCHi in China, in-cosmetics donated valuable facemasks to Shooting Stars’ hospital in Guildford, UK, providing much needed protection for its nurses and patients alike.
Support the Doctor
InterCHARM, the perfumery and cosmetics event organised by Reed Exhibitions Russia, has launched a “Support the Doctor” initiative for doctors and medical staff working with COVID-19 patients in Moscow’s medical institutions.
Manufacturers, distributors and retailers were invited to donate personal hygiene and skincare products to the campaign. The InterCHARM team have been co-ordinating the collection process and communicating with the medical institutions to ensure their safe delivery.
For Our Heroes
In Thailand, Reed Tradex – co-organisers of in-cosmetics Asia – wanted to do their share to support Thailand’s dedicated medical personnel, so they created a dedicated campaign to that end.
Called ‘For Our Heroes’ the campaign resulted in a donation of US$3,200 to support two hospitals at the front line of the fight against COVID-19.
United we are
Reed MIDEM, France – known for its market leading real estate, music and television events – has donated €2,000 to the Fondation de France, the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris and the Institut Pasteur who have joined forces under the name “United against the virus” and are mobilizing their networks to support caregivers, researchers and the most vulnerable.
