2nd edition of the in-cosmetics Brasil exhibition will consolidate the event’s Latin-America presence

2015 sees the 2nd and bigger edition of in-cosmetics Brasil. This exhibition is an international event fully given over to showcasing raw materials for the Toiletries, Fragrance and Cosmetics sector.

Like the 2014 exhibition, the first time the event had been held in Brazil, the 2015 edition also looks set to be a huge success, bringing what’s new worldwide in raw materials for this sector. This year there are a larger number of exhibitors and greater educational content, making the fair the biggest education and business platform in Latin America’s Personal Care industry.

in-cosmetics Brasil takes place 30 September-01 October in the Pavilhão Azul / Blue Pavilion of São Paulo’s Expo Center Norte. The organizers, Reed Exhibitions, needed a larger and more accessible exhibition space, a result of demand for this larger-scale event. With 8 months until show time, the exhibition is already 20% bigger than the 2014 edition and over half of its exhibitors are international.

in-cosmetics Brasil is organized by Reed Exhibitions and is part of the in-cosmetics International Group that puts on events in Europe, Asia and Latin America. In Brazil the fair is backed by ABIHPEC (The Brazilian Association of the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Industry), the most important body in the country and an enthusiastic local partner. Some of the leading companies of the sector are already confirmed for the 2nd edition of the event. These include Croda, Symrise, Merck, Givaudan, Ashland and Gattefossé, and Brazilian companies Beraca, Oxiteno, Chemyunion, Química Anastácio and Brasquim, among others.

The large-scale consumption of cosmetics products is driving the continued growth in Brazil’s HPPC sector. The Brazilian market is the largest in Latin America and the third largest in the world, right up there behind Japan and the US. Research indicates that Brazil will shortly be overtaking Japan, to slide into second place. The country has 11% of the sector worldwide and in 2012 had a turnover of almost 42 billion dollars, according to Euromonitor Internacional data.

Globally speaking, the 10 markets with a widely growing Personal Care sector in terms of value are developing countries, according to Datamonitor’s Market Data Analytics (MDA) database. “The enormous success of in-cosmetics Brasil in its inaugural year shows that widening the group’s presence and creating an event aimed at Latin America, an ideal platform for expanding our international and homegrown clients’ business, is the correct strategy,” said Lucy Gillam, Director, in-cosmetics Group.

In 2015 the event’s managers expect to play host to 2800 visitors over the exhibition’s 2 days, 30% more than 2014, with an expected 50% rise in international visitors. The Latin American Roadshows will be increased to obtain these results. The in-cosmetics Brasil team will be visiting various countries, holding small conferences that include presentations on market trends and exhibitors’ new products that will be shown at the exhibition, and concluding with invitations to the guests to come and meet them in person at São Paulo’s in-cosmetics Brasil. The Roadshows will be held in Colombia, Chile and Argentina, bringing local manufacturers and R&D professionals closer to the exhibitors at this Brazilian event.

One new element for 2015 is that the exhibition will have an expanded educational content for its visitors. “We are taking care to draw up a program that will bring innovations and quality technical content to our audience. Accordingly, this 2nd Edition not only has Innovation Seminars and Technical Workshops but we are also launching a Marketing Trends programme, with free presentations embracing a variety of industry topics, giving information on the latest market trends, statistics and data,” said Daniel Zanetti, Show Manager, in-cosmetics Brasil.

Latin-American R&D professionals who visit the São Paulo exhibition in September/October will have the chance to see a variety of innovatory global and Brazilian raw materials. The Innovation Zone will provide them with contact with the most recent ingredients and formulas launched on the market in the last 6 months. The visitors will also have access to an unrivalled Educational Program where they can refresh, learn and come into contact with the latest innovations and research in Personal Care ingredients.
