in-cosmetics returns to Paris with host of new show features

in-cosmetics, 12-14 April 2016, Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, Paris

22 October 2015 – in-cosmetics returns to Paris in 2016, for what will be the event’s biggest instalment in its 26 year history. Taking place from 12-14 April 2016, the free-to-attend exhibition will be 1,000m2 larger than the previous year, with more than 700 international suppliers showcasing the latest cutting edge ingredients, raw materials and technologies, alongside new interactive show features.

As the world’s largest exporter of cosmetic products, the strength of the French personal care sector is expected to play a key role in the success of the 2016 event. Exports of French cosmetics grew by 6.2 percent[1] in the first half of 2015, enabling the country to maintain its position as the sector leader.

Globally, the picture is equally positive, with the worldwide cosmetic market expected to grow to a value of US$675Bn by 2020[2]. And while Western Europe is a key contributor, North America continues to be the largest personal care market in the world, comprising 18% of the sector and boasting more than 2,000 cosmetic manufacturers.

Reflecting its importance to the global cosmetics and personal care industry, in-cosmetics has announced that it will be placing the USA under the spotlight in the Market Focus feature at the Paris event. A dedicated pavilion, supported by the US Department of Commerce, will house exhibitors from across the country, providing visitors with opportunities to source new ingredients and learn about the latest trends in the world’s largest market.

Next to the Formulation Lab visitors will find the Sensory Bar – a new feature for 2016, where formulations boasting interesting textures or innovative sensations can be tested. Formulations created using new fragrances, tastes and state-of-the art pigments will also be displayed, aiming to capture the imagination of manufacturers and in-turn, facilitate the development of new relationships and ultimately, consumer products.

Visitors can also gain inspiration for new product development at the Innovation Zone. A popular show feature, the Innovation Zone will display more than 80 recently launched, ground-breaking ingredients and technologies, as well as a host of innovative finished products selected by Mintel.

In-line with the growth of the exhibition, the world-class educational programme returns with a host of new seminars, workshops and debates. Free-to-attend Marketing Trends presentations will address an array of controversial industry topics and provide an update on the latest trends, statistics and market data.

Half-day Workshops, conducted by industry experts, will cover the most crucial scientific and regulatory subject areas for personal care professionals, while more than 40 hours of Innovation Seminars will provide details on some of the latest products, ingredients and technologies to be launched in 2016.

Three key in-cosmetics ‘zones’ will also enable visitors to plan their day, target relevant suppliers and gain insight relevant to their business. New for 2015 is the Lab Zone, where visitors can meet suppliers of small laboratory equipment. Companies already exhibiting in this zone include Eppendorf and IKA Werke.

Meanwhile, the Testing and Regulation Zone will provide advice on regulatory compliance, measuring efficacy and how to ensure the safety, stability and shelf-life of products. Leading fragrance manufacturers will also be on hand in the Fragrance Zone to discuss the latest trends, formulation challenges and consumer buying behaviour.

The Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award, Green Award and brand new Sensory Award will all recognise products combining innovative science and features demonstrating substantial benefits to manufacturers and end-users. Finally, The Lifetime Achievement Award, which runs every three years, will be returning and will celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of individuals who have made a significant impact on the cosmetic and personal care industry.

This is all just a taster of what’s happening at next year’s in-cosmetics. To find out more on exhibitors and features at the show, you can visit the website at www.in-cosmetics.com.
